Italsmea was established in 1969 as
"Italiana Strumentazione Materiali Elettrici Antideflagranti" specialising in
Explosion Proof Electrical Components.
The turnover has improved from 50.000 US$ of
1969 to 6,0 million US$ of 1994.
The actual capability of the main workshop
located in Bussero (Milano) with door surface 5000 sqm and total area of 6000 sqm.
Italsmea means today a complete range as per
type of business above mentioned fully certified according to the last European Standard
CENELEC EN 50014-50018-50019. All range of CESI CENELEC test certificates are now
available to assist the customers for all types of electrical installation.
The topmost specialisation and equipments have
allowed the study and realisation of supplies that have all the L.V.- M.V. electrical
safety apparatus for electrical distribution, power supply instruments and lighting
systems for offshore and onshore plants.
In 1985 Italsmea manufactured and supplied all
electrical apparatus EEx-d and EEx-e for the production offshore platform "VEGA"
(Mediterranean sea South of Sicily), along with a similar-one done for the
offshore El Boury Oil Field (South of Malta island Mediterranean sea) they confirm
the exceedingly high level of Italsmea's "Know How" for offshore plants.
Subsequently Italsmea begin a new product range
in the electronics field and with the expertise of the technical staff the Electronic
Ballast E.B. series for fluorescent lamps was produced. Italsmea was one of the first
company's to use the electronic ballast, replacing the electro-mechanical version for all
lighting fixtures.
The telegraphic net grows, covering all the
Italsmea agencies that are working within Italy with a view to extending the connection
into Europe in the near future.
During 1994 a new realism enters Italsmea.
The Service: Italsmea acquire a package
supply and services for all low and medium voltages and instrumentatation apparatus for
the offshore Geisum oil co. Egypt.
This year a branch company within Singapore was
founded combining the features of the new sister company named Italsmea (Italy) and IMT
(Holland), this is a sign of new aspirations that the two company's together are able to
better assist the growing markets of oil and gas in the Asia Pacific region.
Today IMTEL Pte. Ltd. represents a stocking
centre with an independant capability of supplying and with a fast growing knowledge which
answers to customised items from the standard Italsmea -IMT ranges.
A joint venture; Italsmea - IMT
undersigned with Phillips lighting, an agreement concerning the EEx lighting system for
the entire Asia Pacific region.
During the last two years Italsmea acquired
some important new business, For Example: Industrial export of the panel board (Romania),
lighting fixtures for Daelim co. (Korea) and WangEmas Kejuruteraan (Malaysia).
Italsmea gain a huge contact with the engineering and contractor corporation J.G.C.
for the Ras Laffan complex (Katar) and enter the market of the largest Japanese contractor
as mentioned above J.G.C. Chiyoda, Toyo and Mitsubishi.
In addition to the last two years an internet project was formed
initially with the creation of an E.mail address and now with a web site. |
